My girls

I am going to spare you all with the same old, lame excuse of not having enough time. We got both of our kids the same PJs during Christmas time - although I personally feel kids look good in just about anything. Finally posting the pictures here:

Anika loves being held by her older sister, and vice-versa. Ashna insisted on having Ani on her lap while taking the pic, so:

Ashna with Anika

Strangely, Anika sat very still when on Ashna's lap. Every time we tried to put her on the side for a different position, she would start moving around. We finally gave in...

Random July Pictures...

Just a few random pictures, we were at the Shedd Aquarium and then Millennium Park, Chicago.

I took this one at the Crown Fountain - Millennium Park. You will find that if you click on the pictures, sometimes, they look better. So go ahead, click each one of them, I promise they won't bite back. Although I might be *slightly* biased considering these are my pictures...!

Crown Fountain

These ones below were taken across Shedd Aquarium:

The trees form kind of a nice archway, alluring us to stroll right through...

I found the lights below geometrically very inviting, and since I didn't have a better thing to do at that moment, I took the picture.

This is just a step! There needn't be any meaning to every picture someone takes, you know...

And another one...

The skyline always looks wonderful, no matter what time of the day:

Weekend @ Indiana Dunes

This long weekend, we went to Indiana Dunes for some getaway. It was hot as hell, but clear, blue sky. You would think that the water would be nice and warm, right? WRONG! It was cold, and I am talking cold as in when your wife says "We need to talk" cold...

Anyways, so we went in water. Now I am thinking, being an Indian, I don't need to worry about sun burn, and all that crap; I mean, com'on. "We" don't get sun burn. I had my sun-screen spray, but it was ALL the way where we were sitting, and I was ALL the way in the water. Call me lazy but I ain't going back just to get sprayed. Umm, well, I should have, but that's another story.

Anyways, Ashna had a LOT of fun in water. She didn't want to come out. Here's a sample:

Ogden Dunes

While my wife did join us in the water for a bit, Ani needed her attention more. Both were happy watching us from the shore...

Mom with Anika

All in all we had a great time, barring my screams every time I moved my hands thanks to sunburn...

I have been waiting to get a chance to play around with DoF. Now if you are a REAL photographer, you can do that every day, every minute, but I am only as smart as I look and so; I had to wait! (I was going to use "stupid", but then, this is MY blog so I switched the word!)

Now when you take a picture, you can choose to have the background in focus, but there are times when you don't want to. It really depends on what you are trying to say through the picture.

The above is a bit non-conventional, and so, I like it.

The one below is what we usually take:

Would love to hear what you guys think...

Twins: a few years apart...

So I have been thinking about this for a couple of weeks now: both me and my wife feel that our girls look so much alike at the same age, so I thought why not put them side by side and see how it would fare. So here I go...

It was hard to find similar pictures, but luckily, both my girls seem to have similar habits (and yes, both of them like TV for some odd reason!)...

Anika or Ashna?

I should probably do more pictures, but let's see how this goes...

Ashna's graduation

DSC_0067_C, originally uploaded by *uhsa*.

It was my daughter's Kindergarten graduation and we were all very excited. We were all like "Wow, she's already done with her KG, what's next: Medical school??"

OK, so maybe not, but still, she IS growing up!

Seems like time flies...

I thought I would put in some pics I took of Anika here:

A bit of DoF here, just playing around with my camera to see how it would turn out. I think this came out pretty good, if used in the right way...

Anika a bit curious as to what is going on here...

I wish I didn't have my shadow at the bottom but I am too lazy to crop that out, so just bear with it!

With my girls...

Obviously I didn't take these pictures, my wife took it. But since I haven't been taking pictures regularly from God knows when, I thought I would upload her pictures here anyways. So here we go:

It's hard to juggle between the two girls, although at this point it's not that bad. Anika at this point is easily shuffled from one hand to the other!

The many moods of Anika

Although the picture is a bit blurry for my taste, I can't but help loving the picture.

This one is adorable too, IMHO! Although, it's besides the point that I find any and all pictures of my girls adorable...

This one is another one of the many pictures that is not so great, except the subject making it so...

Or is it this one??

This picture here took a me a while to take, she would stop giggling as soon as I tried taking a picture. In the event that I did manage to take the picture, the camera wasn't fast enough, and I would get a blurry one.

Sleeping Beauty

I think I am running out of excuses, but I honestly haven't had much time to take many pictures, even with the new baby.

This one was taken a while back, but I just uploaded it...

Close-ups of Anika

Two more pictures of Anika.

The first one is a black & white, always a favorite when it comes to portrait...

The second one is in color, just to be fair...!

Thought I would put both side by side...

Anika - our newest bundle of joy...

I know I haven't had time to put too many posts here as much as I would like to, but I couldn't resist putting one today. Anika is the newest addition to our family, and big sister Ashna is delighted. Just a little fun-fact: Anika was born 2/28/10 and incidently happened to be the baby # 228 for the month of February at the hospital! The nurses there urged us to get a Lotto :)

Anika - awake!

My oldest was ecstatic on having a little sister. She went around the hospital telling all the nurses to take good care of Anika and to not fall asleep!
